A large and impressive 18th century Spanish colonial nicho with hand carved cornice, hand painted interior and gilt-wood doors. Exterior with remnants of original painted surface.

Scenes of the Passion - would have undoubtedly held a sculpted Crucifix in the center of Nicho - Intentional defacing of the "bad guys" ( Romans ) makes this an intereting historical item. Possibly Bolivia. Ex Southern collection.
