A fabulous little gem of Colonial art. This painting of the Virgin de Soledad surrounded by angels, cherubim , San Francisco de Paul andd symbols of the passion is a little jewel painted on copper. Fitted into a very lovely wood and silver studded and nacar encrusted frame it was made inot a "Porta Paz" - likely for a home altar. The back is of sgraffito work on tortoise shell. Lovely and unique!
